Aqau Bowl Glazed

Description

On a buying trip around a factory we hadn’t been to before we unearthed this beautiful glazed bowl. Its size is what originally caught our attention, but then when you look at it more closely, you can see a number of things. Firstly, that it’s huge, secondly that the design is so perfect for the bowl, and thirdly, that the glaze just finishes it off. Normally, we would have a pot made in a number of some glazes work better than others depending on the shape size and finish of the pot. But the aqua blue was just perfect. No need to try anything else.

However, that was the easy part. The hard part was that the factory didn’t want to make the bowl. The one we found was admittedly tucked away underneath something else, and it was only our experienced eyes that spotted it. Apparently, it was too difficult to make and they just said no, they wouldn’t make it. As they were a new supplier to us, we let it go, and there was plenty of other brilliant items that we could order from them anyway. When we placed our first order, they could see we were serious and so when asked again, if they would make even just a few, they reluctantly agreed. How lucky was that!
