The gentle swirl of flutes on this large pot are a wonderfully simple form of decoration that enhance its shape and style. At two feet in diameter, it is big enough to accommodate a good sized shrub or small tree, and placed in your garden, whether that is on the patio, outside a conservatory, or at the end of a path, it will add a warmth structure to the garden design.
Being a big pot, it is more important than ever to make sure it is looked after. This pot is made in Vietnam by a team of skilled craftsmen that take the basic clay from the are, and mould it by hand and then it is fired in a wood burning kiln. This firing process takes a great deal of skill as control of the high temperatures (around 1000-1200 degrees centigrade), is done by eye and the experience of the potter. After firing, the pot becomes frost proof, so you can be sure that you have one of the toughest, most resilient pots on the market.
Extra protection can be gained by using some drainage material such as gravel or broken pottery at the bottom of the planter before topping it up with compost. Placing the pot on some decorative pot feet, will help the drainage and give further protection. It will also raise the pot up and make it stand out more.
